Fatal Cause was a band that hailed from Salt Lake City, Utah. They were active from 1989-1994. This is their third demo, originally released in 1994 on cassette. This was released just a few months before they broke up. Since the scene was not large in Utah in the 90s, some of these members were in Wicked Innocence and Carnal Decimate. This demo has some more progressive elements. It makes for a very interesting listen! The 4 panel booklet has all the lyrics.

When the hunt was pure, it was to survive And not for the sport of malicious slaughter Once the hide of the buffalo Kept the children warm at night to dream But now the buffalo became extinct So the young lay cold in the streets And dream and kill each other to survive And now we cry out injustice In tradition of the shaman to the beat of the drum For the season of hate will pass Witness the morbidity of death's extremities Forced to see what you refuse to see The harsh reality: displayed by the thousands When it's our time to die, there is no alternative Crawl deep into the closet mind of every human And see for yourself where each lunatic comes from Who will feed the fire? Now that the flames of their dreams no longer burn Suffocated by desire as empty stomachs That deserve forever churn, forever churn, forever churn Corpses of a serial killer society Betrayed by its own creation? Lacerated vein graffiti on walls of isolation Words of desperation Helpless screams of an innocent woman victimized Raped and beaten, then left to die And we refuse to let the lunatic subside As we fail to defy the killing time Afraid to let the lunatic subside As we fail to defy the killing time Time is now to recreate the way Who will feed the fire? Now that the flames of their dreams no longer burn Suffocated by desire as empty stomachs That deserve forever churn, forever churn, forever churn And we refuse to let the lunatic subside As we fail to defy the killing time

We are one - you and I separate minds of humankind One must flow from many So that the many flow from the one - for I am one within No one and you are one never to become one Strange to see others undergoing what you've been And being what you may become or fallen into what you fear It's inevitable Who is the one that you flow from to become one? Who is the one that you flow from to become one? I am one within no one cursed to see what you are One within no one that deserves not to be To us, the idealists of an improved tomorrow You are only the corrupter of future generations Progress down from your empty self And awaken to the need of preservation Who is the one that you flow from to become one? To become one, to become one In the life of a slave to greed surviving in society Is dominating your bureaucracy In our lives of poverty we must unite To survive your sick society The answers to your fears may remain in someone else's mind And you will never know unless you cross their paths of time Hiding underneath yourself as I subside Above the lie separate minds you and I!

My world erodes as I internally churn These serene dreams of utopia burn Soil sealed beneath concrete, construction of isolation Industrial sounds echo forever in halls of damnation In concrete confined I was born of synthetic flesh Cursed from my first infected breath As my luminous body remains divine Cast into this realm where hate excretes Now I walk disgusted down bloodstained streets Through a maze in disbelief Damned within these walls of pain Sheltered from the acid rain Forests lay desolate sealed beneath concrete A once pure world mutilated A once pure world mutilated A once pure world mutilated Fortresses obscuring wounded skies - tear down and rectify In concrete confined In concrete confined In concrete confined Confined, confined, confined... Industrial sounds echo forever in halls of damnation Isolation in halls of damnation Release me, release me Release me, release me A once pure world mutilated A once pure world mutilated The natural process of evolution sealed deep beneath concrete

It never promised it would help me see forever And all along I knew and only now realized Tomorrow I'll forget today As now I fade from yesterday Got to hold onto that killing face From the pain of laughter Feed into the self you dream you are As you become what never was within your mind As another feeds from what you were As he or she is now confined Within nothing, awaiting you, and all I can do is laugh Can't stand the pain of laughter Mock the look on Jesus' face As the flock sleepwalks to the slaughter Their cold expressions are the same Relate to me, sit down and sedate with me The joke's on you but you can't see the wall Within my mind around me, laughing at the world I see Laughing at the world that surrounds me Can't stand the pain of laughter Can't stand the pain of laughter Teacher screams another lesson that I've already heard Relate to me, take a hit, sit down and sedate with me As the keeper scratches another moment Into the wall within our minds around us Around us
